The Zero Anthropology Project focuses on the history, philosophies, ideologies, cultures, and practices of contemporary imperialism. A parallel focus is on the ethnography and ethnohistory of Indigenous Peoples of the Caribbean.

Topics covered by this project include US foreign policy, the human rights problem, military intervention, globalization, neoliberalism, trade, nationalism, democracy/democratization, and Indigenous resurgence.

When noted, the photographs featured in the pages within this site were taken by Maximilian C. Forte. You do not need to obtain written permission to use them, as long as reuse (with attribution) is of a non-commercial nature. The photographs originate from the author's research trips to Newfoundland, for a project focusing on inter-peripheral trade between Atlantic Canada and the Caribbean, and ongoing research in the Caribbean itself. The images thus symbolize the author's enduring fascination with the Caribbean, with his favourite part of Canada, and relate to ZAP topics such as indigeneity, trade, globalization, and empire.
